I’m so glad I left Investment Banking when I did

October 1, 2008

Check out the article Bonuses are gone, Cristal is corked on the Globe and Mail website,

When I left in the first quarter of 2007, we just had a great year and bonuses were good (well by HSBC standards), however people were nervous about the year ahead. The economy was weakening a bit, credit markets were softening and people were wondering how they would meet revenue targets based off of the great year we just had. I doubt they had any idea how bad it would get… so glad I got out.

SNL Digital Shorts

May 17, 2008

Anyone else noticed that the last few SNL Digital Shorts have been pretty lame? The Best Look in The World… Laser Cats 3… Daiquiri Girl… I wasn’t a big fan of Grandkids in the Movies either. They seem very forced.

Since we’re on the subject, I’ll give you my top 7 (why 7? Because I’m too lazy to do 10):

7. Roy Rules
6. Hero song
5. Andy’s Dad
4. Natalie Raps
3. Lazy Sunday
2. Iran so Far
1. Business meeting with Rainn Wilson

Many of you are probably noticing the absence of Dick in a Box… it was good the first time I saw it but didn’t have legs.

Funny webisode

WordPress is so annoying, you can’t imbed videos that use a Shockwave player. Anyways, go here for a funny webisode that guest stars Michael Cera.

Everything you wanted to know about Investment Banking…

May 7, 2008

Scrib has this document that is basically a complete overview of Investment Banking. It was actually pretty interesting to read as it was pretty dead on. I wish I been able to read something like this when I first started out in banking. You can check it out here.
